Champion Energy Bars
1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
3/4 cup soft wheat flour or white flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup wheat germ
1 tsp EACH baking soda and cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs
1/3 cup oil
1/4 cup molasses
1/4 cup sugar
1 Tbsp grated orange peel
1 cup orange juice
1 cup dried figs (if available)
1/2 cup golden raisins
1/2 cup almonds, chopped
Combine in one bowl, the dry (first seven) ingredients. In smaller bowl, combine the wet (next six) ingredients. Add the liquids to the dry, just until smooth. Stir in the fruits and nuts. Spread in a greased 9x13 and bake at 350 for 35 minutes. Cut into 24 bars.
